Guide Rail Applications

Sliding guides offer advantages such as simple structure, easy manufacturing, and high contact stiffness. However, traditional sliding guides suffer from high friction resistance, rapid wear, and a significant difference in dynamic and static friction coefficients, making them prone to slipping at low speeds. To improve the positioning accuracy and smooth motion of CNC machine tools, plastic guides are now widely used. They have a low friction coefficient, similar dynamic and static friction coefficients, and offer smooth motion, preventing slipping at low speeds. They also offer excellent wear resistance, self-lubrication, and vibration resistance, as well as good chemical stability. They are also simple to manufacture and low-cost.

Generally speaking, the most notable features of sliding plastic guides are their excellent rigidity, vibration absorption (suppressing tool vibration during cutting), and damping (preventing vibration during start-up and stopping of the guide system). They are suitable for machine tools with heavy cutting loads and offer low cost, making them economical and practical.
